This workshop provided an opportunity for exchange among members of institutions in charge of and public officials responsible for access to information in some OECD countries and in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia.

Discussions focused on the right of access to information, practices and mechanisms for its implementation, and more specifically on the institutional framework that would ensure respect for this right and the role of each actor and institution in its implementation.

The workshop provided an opportunity to discuss, in particular, the challenges of effectively implementing existing legislation and to learn about the experiences of the four MENA countries as well as those of some OECD member countries.
