The MENA-OECD Centre organised a training seminar on the Implementation aspects of Open Government, held in Caserta from 26 to 29 May 2015.

The training modules were addressed to senior public officials coming from different MENA countries, invited to participate in the interactive discussions on case studies presented by professors and experts on the Open Government principles and to share their own experience on the implementation of these principles in their home countries.

The objective of this international training seminar was to promote open and inclusive policies, in order to improve dialogue among governments and their constituencies. To this end, three cross-cutting issues for the development of an effective Open Government were further explored and analysed:

  • The role of ICT technologies and safe data management to promote transparency and accountability;
  • Linking the local level to the central administration in a participative way to foster dialogue with citizens;
  • Anticorruption measures at different level of government that boost Integrity and build up trust.
